Hi, I'm Will from Alabama. I have Jack our 3 year old standard poodle, Guapo the chihuaha, Sasha the mutt that rules the house, 2 fish tanks with a variety of fish and Frankie the cockatiel. Small zoo, we'd have cats but the wife is allergic :)

I work at the Hyundai plant and my hobbies are bladesmithing, reading and taking care of our small zoo. Looking forward to learning and sharing with all of you.

Welcome, Will!! Sound like you have a houseful - we used to have fish, but "donated" them to my daughter's high school science teacher a few years ago!! We have 2 spoos, Lucy and Chalumeau; Juliet, a mini dachshund; Hannah, a boxer/cocker/great pyr/lab/mini poodle/viszla mix; 4 cats (Sugar, Brutus, Element & Volcom), 3 cockatiels (Dovey, Bingo & Rainbow) and 2 horses - Indy and Xenophon... (I think we have you beat!)

Pictures are always welcome!!

Welcome Will! Sounds like you are a very busy man. You have ME beat. I have two spoos, Billy & Taffy, one Golden, Brandy, and three kitties, Isis, Rembrandt, and Sassypants. Had a nice coy but something fished it out of the pond during the fall! : (

We're planning a koi or goldfish water garden hopefully next year. How deep was your koi pond? I know the local water garden people say you need to have a section at least 3' deep to give them a place to escape predators.

Bladesmithing? That's an unusual and demanding hobby. Do you concentrate on a historical period, or do you just experiment with a metal & style that strikes your fancy?
I do some period pieces for my in-laws because they do reenactments but I've found people that do reenacting are usually unwilling to pay what a blade is worth and they want something to look "old" while I argue that if it's period then it wasn't an old knife back then! I primarily make smaller "user" type knives because I like for people to carry and use the blades I make. I make what I like and hope my customers like them as well :)
