Hi! I'm new... And new to the internet forums in general so please forgive me if I don't know all the acronyms and etiquette rules. Looks like we will have a new mini in our home sometime in mid August. I've been poking around on this site and see I have a lot to learn. We just said goodbye to our two 15.5 year Chihuahuas (litter mates) so the house seems weird. Trying to distract myself by preparing as best as I can.

Hello and welcome !

I’m sorry about the loss of your beloved Chihuahuas. I lost mine 2 years ago and I am not over it yet.

Poodles and Chihuahuas are very different kind of dogs. Minis, especially, are very energetic. Prepare yourself for quite a change... :)

Welcome! Heartfelt condolences for your double loss. Your mini is going to be the best antidote to grief. Your puppy will demand you smile, laugh out loud, be completely charmed and you will be. Poodles love their people:)

Hi - I am new here also. Am sorry for your loss, I had a 12 yr old min poodle that passed in March, was the love of my life, I was lost without him. My kids bought me a sp puppy 2 weeks after so even though he doesn’t replace my little guy it does ease the pain having to concentrate on a new baby. He is now going to be 4 months on the 9th and I have been reading to find if he is average size. He is 20 1/2” tall and I think weighs about 30 pounds, he weighed 25 3 1/2 weeks ago st vet visit so I am guessing approximate weight.

Getting ready and ElisaD, welcome to both of you. I am sorry you both have had hard losses recently.

ElisaD if you find you can't post other places when you are back on it may be because you didn't start your own intro thread.

Thanks all for the welcome wishes. I must admit that I'm a little nervous about doing this without a yard (we live in NYC). But my kids are older now and are more able to help. Both of them are excited to have a more energetic dog as ours were exceedingly quiet for the past few years.
