I like the idea that there is a healthy protein source that does not involve the animal suffering and environmental damage that is part of the current institutional meat production system. I've seen other videos on farming insects and it is quite interesting. Apparently they are already beginning to use insects in making food for farm animals.

I think it's excellent, peppersb. For dogs and humans.

I'm sure PETA will step in and assure us that this is unethical and cruel treatment of insects.

Well, i can tell you that Cleo has discovered a great fondness for cicadas. Eating them, that is. (You can just see one sticking out of her mouth, below.)
So funny! When Cammie (Cleo's grandmother) was a puppy, she loved hunting for and eating bugs. I thought she was finding beetles in my yard, but now I am thinking that maybe it was cicadas. I have not seen her do that as an adult, but when she was a puppy she was quite an accomplished bug hunter!

I'd be willing to feed Zael insect based dog food, heck I'm one of those weirdos who're not against people eating insects.
I think it's an underused and sustainable source of protein...
Having said that though, I used to own Bearded Dragons and had to keep large quantities of living crickets, mealworms, and locusts in my home to feed them... oh boy did they stink. It's a smell you don't forget.

Speaking honestly I don't know how I feel about eating insects, it just grosses me out. However it if could rid out of some of these darn mosquitos I may rethink it. I can't seem to go outside without getting bitten in the last few weeks. Its awful. I'm going to need a big batch of something to spray to get rid of them or these people making insect food are welcome to them.
