I'm Sooo Proud of Guenna

Yesterday was William Penn Poodle Clubs specialty show in Willow Grove, PA. (Side note: I used to be a member when I still lived up home in Blue Bell) & from what my parents tell me Guenna was right on. She was entered in Open & ended up going up against Kaz's Walker & another puppy. She took 2nd to Walker :peace: (not suprising as he is absolutly georgeous!) and my only problem is I don't really know what all classes she won to get there, or how to figure out how many points she got. Can anyone help me figure this part out?

Would love to try to help, but the points system still confuses me, I know it would depend not the # entered but on the # that actually showed, and if there were more dogs then bitches, someone had said the points would float over to the bitches, not sure how but I can try to get ahold of my breed handling instructor she breeds/shows and judges not poodles but cattle dogs. She is a wealth of knowledge and I am glad to have her to be able to pick her brain lol. She self admits she is not real experianced with poodles but tries to help any way she can.
Assuming thats an AKC sancationed club...
Did she compete in the open class and win second? If yes then congrats but no points. If she won her open class and went second she got reserve... OR she won the open class, won winners bitch, and went best of opposite (thus going second to the other dog) The points depend on how many dogs she defeated not really what she won. If you beat 1 dog when you win you may get no points or one point, if you beat 50 dogs.... then you may get five points. With me ?

What color are the ribbons she took home, that would explain a lot. ?
K wait, I re-read that and it sounds like she went best of opposite since the puppy that beat her was male? Am I correct on that?

In that case, she won the open class, won winner's bitch, and then went in for Best of Variety. Walker went BOV and your girl went Best of Opp. You'll have to look up how many bitches were competiting and the points scale for spoos in that area of the county to see how many points she won.

Ok I think I follow that. But, didn't Walker go for Best of Breed since he is a toy, Guenna a spoo & this a specialty?
Yes you are correct. BOB and BOV can be interchangable but seeing as how it was a specialty and there was only one winner it would be Best of Breed.

Ok soooo Guenna took Best of Variety & Best Opposit to Best of Breed right? (I just found out that the puppy was a mini) Would I add all the spoos to figure her points or just the girl spoos?
UPDATE On Last Friday's Specialty

I just found out last night that Guenna's specialty was a 3 point major. Yeah! She now has 9 points. 6 more points & 1 major & she can come home! YIPEEEEE!
Whooooo :)
congrats !
