Pictures from yesterday's IKC show, it was amazing to see all the breeders, vendors and rescue groups!

The first white poodle was there for her obedience trial with her owner- her owner seemed really focused (or perhaps nervous) about their up coming turn so I didn't really talk to them to give them time to mentally prepare.

The show white poodle in the beautiful puppy clip is owned and handled by a lady here in the Chicago area, she was really sweet. He is 9 months old and was in the competition with her handling him (she also grooms him herself! how impressive!!)

The little black poodle is a stud (I believe) from a family in Florida that also sells scissors, shampoo, conditioners etc. Looking at him was like looking at Ocsi! It was so crazy- I've never had that experience before.

bigpoodleperson then you remember his coat? it was soooo long!
looking at pictures, I think his nose is a little bigger than Ocsi, but as I was petting him and really 'in his face' it was just like being with my dog- it was crazy! if his hair had been shorter and the two dogs were in front of me I might not know which was which, it was so cool! plus he gave me the 'signature' Ocsi kiss, but shhhh, don't tell Ocsi I let another poodle kiss me

I don't really know what I was expecting, but it certainly blew me away once I got there- it was kind of hard to describe

The owner is Suesan Watson. She is one of the most famous groomers in the U.S. http://www.groomteamusa.com/SWatson.htm

Member of Groom team USA for many years and judges all the grooming competitions now.

Her sister is Lisa Leady, another very famous competition groomer that was on Groomer Has It (Animal Planet) last season.
Lisa was my teacher in grooming school. I was at the show and visited with them. Hero (her spoo) is so handsome. Very nice and talented ladies!

I showed my Giant Schnauzers there for several years but didn't attend the last 2 years because I am no longer showing. I was actually very sad & disappointed at the turnout. In years past it was so crowded and every breed had so much more representation. I didn't see half the breeds that usually have a whole isle.

I think it's the economy. I know all the GS breeders and only one was at the show. When I was showing a couple of years ago there were 7-8 GS breeders there with 30-40 dogs.
Of course there wasn't any shortage of professional handlers. All the big names were there.
