How big is your standard?

My boy Charlie is 15 months, he is 26 in. from the withers and 26 in. in length. And weighs in at 60lbs. I’ve had multiple people tell me he is small for a male. so I guess I don’t know. 😂

Bobby is 2 years old is 25” at the shoulder and 55 pounds. My understanding is that Bobby is pretty average.

Evie is 26" at the withers and 45 pounds. As far as I know she is on the large side for females.

My female, Lady Lucy is 44 lbs. our pup Brodie is 16 weeks old and sounds like a freight train walking through the house! Lady was a runt and very petite, Brodie’s feet are as big as hers already! Lady’s parents were both tall.

Loki is getting close to 60lbs and 27 inches at shoulder (best that I could measure anyway - he's so wiggly when he thinks something's up!). The last time we were at his groomer's, she mentioned that he's big for his age (1-year-old then).

Sounds like Archer is a big boy, but they’re all so different.

We met a 65# SPOO the a few weeks ago on the local street. shrug.

Basil (female, spoo, 9 months) is an athletic 41#s.

He’s a big boy, but not so big that I’d argue with you about his pedigree. People are silly.

I seem to recall that at least one Poodle Forum member has an 80+ lb spoo. Maybe @Charlie's Person?

My poodle is 53-55 lbs, and she is about 25" (haven't measured in months and she hates measuring). One of her brothers is apparently 80+ lbs and not fat! I would say your poodle is unusually large, but certainly not unheard of.

I have been told my poodle must be a mix because poodles don't come in black, or must be a mini because standards are bigger! I wouldn't trust most people on the streets' judgements about poodle traits.

He's just a big boy. Our Charlie is 3 years old, a purebred registered with Canadian Kennel Club and weighs 85 pounds. Around 29+ inches tall at shoulder

Wow ! Charlie boy is really a big boy! Even his snout looks heavily boned. Renn is 68 lbs not sure how tall he is anymore as I haven't measured him in awhile . But I think he would look little next to Charlie, lol. He is gorgeous!

Murphy is also a big boy, he weighs 80 lbs and is 27 inches at the shoulder. (Vet says he should lose 5 pounds). Ellie is the same height but is more delicate and weighs 55 pounds.

My dog trainer has a SPOO that is 30" and 90 pounds so there seems to be a vast range of weights and sizes in the spoos.

My female standard is 42 lbs, 24".

Ziggy is 14 months, 25 inches, and about 53 pounds. Folks in the street always say how small he is for a Spoo, but since anything above 15 inches is a spoo, 25 inches doesn't seem small to me! I even had someone argue with me that he wasn't big enough to be considered a Standard.

I think a lot of folks are used to seeing poodles in show coats on TV and don't know what a Spoo in a pet clip in person looks like.

I agree with others that there is a big range of Standards and a lot of people have misconceptions about the breed. I think no matter what size your spoo is, someone will want to tell you that he is too big or too small.
