Hi everyone!

My family will hopefully be adopting a poodle mix soon from a private rescue, and we couldn't be more excited. My mother and I both suffer from dog allergies but tend to do well with poodles, bichons, and lhasa apsos. We finally found a mix available near us that fits the bill! He's a 1 year old poodle/bichon mix. We'll be visiting him soon to see how we do and if he causes any allergic reaction.

I can't wait to learn more about the breed! I used to keep rats, and one of the richest sources of information was a rat forum, so I'm hoping to learn a lot here.

We're still picking out a name. He was going to be called Chuck, but I realized I know too many people named/nick-named Chuck which just doesn't sit well with me.

We're thinking about V, Diesel, and Fawkes, but are definitely open to suggestions.

Funny you should say that about more little poos, because my preference has always been towards spoos! I still plan on rescuing a standard when I have a big enough place of my own.

I'm still waiting to hear from the rescue, but I guess it's good that they do such a thorough check before consenting to adoption. I'm so impatient though!

Update: I checked the Mutts & More Matchmakers PetFinder and Rusty's adoption is now pending. Not sure if that's us or someone else. Soooo badly hoping it's us.

Unfortunately I just heard from the rescue. His adoption is pending with another family, but they said that if it doesn't work out they will go back and review the applications again. I'm hoping that if that happens, by staying in touch with the rescue, we'll be thought of.

I'm so disappointed, but of course, I want what's best for him.
