I have a 6 year old toy poodle that has 2 lose teeth in the back, not front teeth. Is there any vets that specialize in gum disease or should they all know how to treat gum disease which I hope she doesn't have.

Hi and Welcome!

My daughter is a vet, and she is specializing in dog dentistry, so there is special training available to vets. I believe most vets will clean and remove teeth, they may not be experts on dental health. You would have to ask questions of your vet to find out their background.

Welcome and I agree with SG ^. My Vet does the pulling and cleaning but not the speciality in gums. Your Vet will be able to refer you somewhere. I hope it's nothing serious.

Most vets have a tendancy to pull, you will have to go to a vet dentist if you want to try and save them. They are pricey to go to though. Been there, done that!

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like good advice above. I do hope you find someone to take care of that dental problem.
