I would love to be poodle person in Italy! Ho amato il tuo bellissimo paese e avrei voluto rimanere per siempre con un barbincino. “Studied” abroad there in my junior year, at the Universita per
Strangeri in Perugia. My parents had friends in Rome so I long distance chaperones, whom I happily joined at school breaks. I would have needed some years before I could even find or afford a poodle, and so many universitiy kids had no exit ramps to a job. Perennial students, living with their parents. No one complaining, which is one of many things I love about Italian familie. Thanks for igniting these very fond memories.

Hello!

It sounds like you've had an absolutely wonderful time studying and living in Italy. The country truly has a unique charm, doesn't it? Perugia is a beautiful city, rich in history and culture, and Università per Stranieri is renowned for welcoming international students. It's really a great place to experience Italian life and traditions.

The bond between parents and their children in Italy is indeed strong, often extending well into adulthood. This can be attributed to the importance Italian culture places on family values. And the 'perennial students' phenomenon is something quite characteristic of many European countries, not just Italy. However, it seems like you observed this with a positive attitude, which is wonderful.

I'm delighted to hear that you have such fond memories of your time in Italy, and it's great that you would consider becoming a 'poodle person' here! You may decide to come in the future ... and if you decide to visit, count on me!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and feel free to reach out if you have any other memories or thoughts you'd like to share. Best wishes!
