I have had trouble with the screaming also. We have a trainer who comes in and he said the dog must be corrected (whatever methods you are using for your corrections) but do it from a distance. Don't go over to him if he is behind a gate-as that is what he wants. Also I was told to not give affection to the dog until you have him come to you and sit. I keep him on leash even in the house as I can practice commands with him throughout the day. Everything must be on your terms so they don't take over. Do you have a mini?

My Star is very vocal

I feel for your dealing with the screaming.

It is a challenge.

I don't have any suggestions though.

Hope it gets better.

I had a male pup that was very vocal, I watched cesar millan shows lol, I just made the tsk tsk sound and said quiet in my "mommy voice" and that worked. Treats and a good quiet afterward for poss. reinforcment as well. Eventually the word quiet was completely cut out and just the tsk tsk was used. Good luck, also there is a calming plug in that you can get at pet stores.

My resolution to this with Snoops was... take him EVERYWHERE, stop working, and let him sleep with me in the bed. LOL.... sigh... the sad part is, it's kind of true!

Though, now that he is getting older he is getting better. He stays home with family members and is fine. I can actually leave the house now, without him.... LOL!

Have you tried a kong? There is also a toy called....tug a jug I think that's the name where you can put food or treats inside and keep them busy. I'm not sure when you can start giving puppies 'treat's (it's been 8 years sry) but smart balance makes peanut butter without the sugar and if you freeze that in a kong it lasts a while and can keep them busy while you get something done.
