My breeder is probably not the best. She does not have a kennel name and only owns Sammy's mom and dad. Her last name is Knight.

I was very blessed to have gotten this puppy! Even tho his breeder isn't top of the line, Sammy is a wonderful dog. He has a great temperament and is so smart it's kind of scary. I also feel kind of weird about this, but his breeder did not care if I neuter him or not ( I will, and am wondering when is the best time. Remember I have Jett and although the two are getting along now, I worry that could change as Sammy matures).

I guess I should register him,but need name suggestions. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not picky at all. I would just love some suggestions.

Registration names are fun! You can try using his Dam or Sire's name in part of his registration name too As in; ' ____'s Good Boy Sam' or ' ______'s Perfectly Sam'
'_____'s Good Knight Sammy'

I like play it again Sam too!
I’m a Dr. Seuss fan, so “Sam I am” came to mind too.

Way back, probably 42 years ago, I had to come up with a registration name. Not knowing the breeder (my husband to be gave me the cocker spaniel puppy), I decided to use a part of the dam's and sire's name. I got "Sir" from the sire, and "Blue" from the dam. I wanted to call him Archie, so I registered him as "Sir Archibald Blue".

Maybe you can try something like that?

A registered name doesn't have to have anything to do with what you call your dog. I agree that Play it Again Sam is a good choice. But including Sam, or Sammy, in the registered name is your choice. You'll only get to use the registered name if you enter AKC events anyway.

The only AKC requirement is the same name can only be assigned to a certain number (a lot) of dogs. Including the name of your street in your dog's name would surely put you within any parameters on that.

So, I named my poodle after my favorite bourbon. But I call her Clair. Otherwise I might sound like a lush every time I spoke to her!

Congratulations! on your new puppy.
