Paula and I (Murray) live in Kamloops BC. We love dogs. We’ve rescued many dogs the 35+ years we’ve been together. Most of them were middle aged. We were big boxer people...5 of them over the years, a jack russel, a Boston Terrier, a Bischon, an apricot toy poodle Charlie and finally when Charlie passed we rescued Mandy a 4 year old black Toy.. Most of those years we always had 3 dogs. When our last boxer passed, we decided we’d downsize and just stick with 2 dogs, Helga our Boston Terrier and Mandy our Poodle. Sadly at age 16 Mandy’s hip failed and we eventually had to have her put down. Helga the Boston became a very depressed pooch. We did our best walking her and trying to keep her cheery and happy, but weeks later she still whined over not having Mandy. Finally after about 3 weeks of this we decided to replace Mandy with the same make and model and purchased Sally off of Sharon’s Poodles in Prince George. At 12 weeks of age, on the video we watched, Sharon had trained her to go thru a tunnel and sit for a treat. We couldn’t resist. 2 weeks later Sally was dropped off into our arms through one of my son’s friends who happened to be coming through Prince George on the way to Kamloops! Sally is CKC registered and has brought great joy to our house since her arrival. She’s so smart. Helga taught her how to use our dog door so she’s now regularly going in the backyard and exploring new things. Sally is also our first puppy and we are looking forward to the support from the members in this forum with any challenges we might come up against.
Cheers!
Paula and Murray
