Hello to all and special Thanks to Cbrand.

I am Tabatha Waters and am (obviously!) new here. Antoinette Bordeaux Du Nola's Caniche Rouge is my red Diva (Standard Poodle) and Nola Standards is my kennel name.

WebHostServer.us is my website. Save yourself the trip - there's nothing there! I'll let you know (via posting! ha!) once it is up. It will feature original art of Antoinette and her show win photos.

Currently I am showing Antoinette in AKC confirmation and am Editor of the ARPC Rap sheet. That's a tiny sentance but quite a lot of activity!

Thank you for your time reading this rather boring post!

Glad you are here. I'm confused though. Do you own Antoinette? I got the impression from the Happy Tails web site that they owned her and were showing her.

Anyway, she is very cute and I wish you every success in showing her.

Nola is a great kennel name. Do you live in New Orleans? We were there last summer and loved it!!! We had a great meal at Boucherie Boucherie · Contemporary Southern Cuisine · 8115 Jeannette St, New Orleans

r.e.

I own Antoinette.

Thought Linda's site said Antoinette is owned by Nola Standards... I should go look I suppose.

She (Linda at Happy Tails) was instrumental in helping me get Antoinette and in picking her, but she did not breed her. Kay did. Linda does have some of her relatives though.

Yes :) I live in New Orleans and that is why NOLA. Took some (can I say crap here??) at PCA about her name (not a French poodle and all that blah blah blah). Named her as a nod to my city - which I must love as I moved back- even if it is hot as hell and below see level :p Build UP I say!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Nola! I saw some photos of your girl...she is lovely! I am so excited to hear of a red in the AKC ring doing things. You should be very proud and pleased.

After one of the posts on here about Antoinette I went to PHR and had a look at her pedigree. It just goes to show that there can be and are diamonds in the rough. I am familiar with a some of the dogs further back in her lineage but nothing in the first couple of generations. Can you tell us a bit about some of the dogs in the most recent generations. I am keen because I breed reds too, and am always looking for new lines out there to breed to.

I know what you mean about getting so far back and your red is related to my red. Aren't the reds fun??? You reach a point in 80% of the pedigrees where Highlands Red Royal Regal pops up and usually a number of times. I cannot tell you how many pedigrees I have looked at while perusing for prospective mates for my ladies, and keep finding him. Not that there is anything wrong with him...actually thank God for him, or I wouldn't have my girls and you wouldn't have yours either, but land sakes...we need diversity and it looks like you may have found it. I too have been blessed because my matriarch has a line in her that purists turn their noses up at, but if we do not reach out to some of these lines, the reds will be so incredibly line bred and inbred, soon there will be nobody to breed to because everyone will be everyone elses brother or sister.

Please, when you get some time, could you post some photos. The few I have seen were lovely. Keep up the good work. Every red that earns a title makes it that much better for the rest of us. You are bringing attention to this beautiful colour. And it is a real treat to hear of a red at PCA making people sit up and take notice. Thanks for that! Looking forward to seeing/hearing more about your pretty girl.

Welcome to the Poodle Forum, Tabatha!! Pull up a chair and make yourself at home! :) Congratulations on the success you've experienced with your Antoinette! Very exciting stuff, that! I also have a red girl who we're hoping to get involved in rally and maybe obedience (my hubby and I are really enjoying rally right now! We've just finished a basic obedience course put on through our local kennel club and Lucy did VERY well, but it isn't as fun or interesting to us as is rally!) :)

Keep us updated on the progress of your journey with your beautiful redhead!! And, again, WELCOME!
