Sophy (papillon) does it regularly, but she's a girl.

Mostly backwards - certainly never on her (unlike Freddy, who still gets it all over himself!).

Does he (did he) always pee this way? Any chance his hips are hurting him?
It’s been a progression— he is pretty young, 15 months.... he used to squat and then progressed to lifting a bit and then he did a baby handstand and now it’s a full handstand and he pops himself so high I’m scared he’s gonna flip all the way and land on his head....

Hips were good when vet checked him, I haven’t noticed anything.... he plays and runs all around with his sister.... what else should I look for

We have a chihuahua that goes for walks in the neighbourhood, and he always does a handstand when peeing. It's hilarious. Could it be a way of making a higher mark, so that the next dog passing thinks he's a bigger dog?
