Hello crew! We're getting so excited. 😄 By this time next week, I'll be flying to California (from Colorado) to pick up our new red floofer!
This weekend I'll finalize getting everything puppy proofed and ready for her arrival. She's a red standard poodle, will probably mature to 45-50 lbs give or take. We know reds tend to fade, but we've researched her bloodlines and she has a good chance of staying darker. Maybe fade to a golden color. Whatever happens we're good with! Bloodlines are a topic of another thread, I've had so much fun researching them!
I've been compiling names for weeks now, and I'll share a few with you! Can't really decide until we meet her, but thought if anyone wants to throw on their creative hat and call out some name ideas --we're all game!
Love outdoors / nature type names. Really like names ending in "lie", "ly" essentially a long "ee" sound. Not something too girly, but don't want her to sound like a boy either!
Here are some of our favorites, if some future person runs into this thread and needs ideas:
Rue or Larue, Pepper, Dally, Bindi, Lilah (Ly-lah), Tula (Too-la), Ellie, Bonnie, Millie, Shatzi (Shotsy), or Tilly
Other potential names for future girl dogs that I don't know would fit her: Otter, Bailey, Mochi, Sequoia (short "Coy-uh").
Funny Story
My boyfriend and I have REALLY been loving "Larue / Rue"... We were hiking last weekend with good friends and when we shared that, our friend goes "Oh... Rue?? Like... Drewe... haha" --and what she said hit us. My boyfriend's name is Drewe, pronouced (Drew) and now I can't un-hear it... I can't believe we never noticed that Rue rhymes with Drewe.. It's been our top name for WEEKS! 😂 Now I don't know if I should just take it off the list, or if it would be okay to use. I pretty much just call him "babe" anyways which is likely why I didn't catch it. -sigh- I also don't want to feel awkward announcing in the future "My boyfriend Drewe and dog Rue"
