First Poodle

Hi Fellow Poodle Owners
So happy to have found this forum, full of info, helpful advice and interesting experiences.
After years of owning outside working dogs, old age has mellowed us and we decided to get a little housemate. Knowing a person or two with poodles, we tentatively decided to buy a Teacup. After a little research it was decided to get a black female Toy. After looking at lots of ads, a perfect little face stood out from the rest.
Our Tilly is the smartest, cleanest, cutest little soul you could ever hope to meet and really lights up our life. She merrily rides around on the front of a farm bike, happily ensconced in a crate on the front. Jumps up every morning to attend the ritual of feeding up the horses, jumps with joy when the grandkids visit, graciously accepts the affection and careful attention of our German Shepherd and Blue Cattle Dog. Sleeps between us every night and rarely chooses to leave our side, keeps her soft rabbit, Pinky, and her balls and toys neatly assembled in her doggy bed in the lounge room.
One evening, when my hubby was a bit slow going outside for an evening ciggy, she gently picked up his tobacco from the coffee table and placed it on his lap. Come on, Dad, let’s go outside!
Even after breeding Border Collies for many years, this little bundle of joy has surprised us with her intelligence, wisdom and total loyalty.
