I have a nail clipper and dremmel, but I have stopped trimming my dog’s nails many years ago because it triggers my anxiety too much, the dogs feel it and it makes the whole process a nightmare. So now I am stuck because of the pandemic. Nowhere to have the nails done and no solution at home.

There is one option that would not trigger my anxiety, and it’s nail filing. Even if it takes a long time, I think I could manage it. Does anyone only use a file for trimming ? What should I buy ? I would be ordering from Amazon.

Thank you !

Wear a mask when filing and now that the weather is milder, hopefully you can do it outside so it doesn't trigger allergies.

What about using a sanding block? Easy to hold and coarser than a file, therefore should work faster.

You can teach your dog to file his own nails. There are lots of youtube videos, or here is a place to start.
