Anybody interested in a cheap hydraulic grooming table? You can build your own, we did and it's great. We took an old beauty shop hydraulic stool, that we purchased from a yard sale, removed the seat and started there. Attached a steel plate to where seat had been attached. Then attached square tube up rights to the plate. Then bolted angle iron to uprights for table top to attach to. All the tools for this were just regular garage hand tools. The welding I had to ask a friend to do. The cost was less than $35.00. If you have a friend or family in a welding shop or machine shop the material would probably be considered scrap and can get it for nothing. Here are some pix to show the steps. See pix from left to right, steps #1 thru #8. (#1) Base from an old beauty salon chair (2) Plate that holds risers (3) Risers attached to metal plate (4) Plate w/ risers attached to base (5) Angle iron attached to risers (6) Table top (we used 1/2 in. plywood),attached to angle iron. We then painted it and screwed non skid mats to the wood. (7) Finished grooming table at it's lower heighth.
(8) Finished table at it's highest level. (Compare high and low levels with A/C unit at left of table).
Note: Table is mainly bolted together, breaks apart into about 3 places, and can be assembled or disassembled for storage in less then 5 min.
