Question for groomers out there....

Poppy has quite long full ears. I am considering going short, kind of layered look. Can I accomplish this wih a snapon metal comb and my clippers? I would do a miserable job if I tried to layer with scissors.

I have the Wahl Bravura clippers with the set of metal combs.

Here is a picture of what I would like her ears to look like. This is not Poppy, just a picture snagged off the internet.

those are what I call puppy ears. Pretty much all you're doing is cutting the hair in the shape of the ear leather and that layers it naturally. Then if you want it a bit shorter you could take a long comb to it. Just always have your fingers on the edge of the ear leather when trimming around them to be sure you don't accidentally cut the ear.

Thank you so much for a very clear answer! Not sure if I am going to do it, but this gives me direction if I do go short.

Thanks!
