Dubs has outgrown his first crate & upgraded to a 30 x 19 x 21 where he can stretch those long poodle legs. I should’ve known this was needed when he didn’t want to go into his crate lately. Now he’s back to his normal happy self. It’s amazing how poodles always let you know when they need or want something.

He uses his crate all the time for napping and sometimes for night time sleeping. I rarely "crate" him, but sometimes I have guests that i don't want him getting all excited about and I'll crate him for a few minutes to let him calm down a bit. Same thing if someone comes over to work on something (plumber, electrician, etc.). I will always have a crate for him. Not everyone does this, so if that's not for you, that's fine too.

Eddie has his create open access all the time sometimes he’ll just go lay in it. When somebody knocks on the door Eddie runs and barks like he’s gone eat you a live if you open it! I tell him good boy crate… he trots off happy and lays down in his crate while I open the door and he’ll stay until I “release”
I also have a campus fold up crate that I take for hotel stay or staying at a friend or family’s house. He feels more comfortable, safe in his create if I leave for a swim, dinner or what ever.

Loki is on the small side so he only needed a 42" crate. It has as cover so it makes a nice dark place to sleep during the day. We close the door when we are cooking meat and if we have people working on the house. I need him to be comfortable in a crate because we could have to evacuate for a hurricane. The hotel we stayed at last time required the dogs to be crates if we left them in the room unattended.
