At home here, there's a 5' gap between my couch and the kitchen wall. One half of the house on one side, the other half on the other. Kitchen on one, computer on the other.

Lots of room, this gap. Way wider than a comfortable hallway, almost big enuf for two people to pass simultaneously. Safe and comfortable.

But guess where the two and a half foot by four foot dog stands... constantly!

ARRRRGH!! :2in1:

I can relate. We have a galley kitchen and the dogs are always in my path, particularly Fiona the golden. Also, the path leading to the backyard is very narrow and when they all want to run out, it's kind of hazardous. I've considered starting a blog called "Tripping Over Dogs."

Haha! A hazard all dog owners have experienced.

Any time we're headed outside I make sure Tonka goes out the door first. And stays out ahead where I can see him.

But I think everybody's got a 'choke point' somewhere in the house. Dogs seem to find it unconsciously.
