In Sweden there is a beginning debate about the condition on the miniatures hips. So some breeders that I know, is starting to x-ray there stud-dogs.

Many of the established breeders here in Sweden are very unwilling to this. Why I do not know.

How is it in the US/UK/AU?

Here in the US both bitch and stud are normally x rayed prior to breeding. Hip testing is a very common when it come's to health testing in the US. You certainly don't want to breed a dog with fair hips to another with fair hips or worse. I don't know why anyone would be against hip testing. Hip displasia is horrible and should be avoided if possible.

How common is the hip problem? Does it seem to be going down now that people are aware and do xray prior to breeding?
