Companion for Mom

Hi,
My name is Catherine and I’m a rescue volunteer for American Fox Terrier Rescue (Wires & Smooths). So why am I writing to this list? :)

My mom lost her dearly loved companion, Cameo, 2 months ago at the age of 16. Cameo was a very small white female Poodle, I’d say around 8 lbs. Mom is devastated and would like to adopt again (she’s had Poodle companions since 1965). I’m in the Houston area and mom is in Jupiter, FL, just north of West Palm Beach. Mom’s on the rescue list in FL, but so far there have been no Poodles that are a match. The rescues in Houston are too young (2 yo and under).

Since you are the breed experts and a national community, I thought I’d try your list to see if you might be aware of any Poodles that being retired or in need of a good home. Mom is looking specifically for an adult in the 5-7 year old range, female, white and 9 lbs or less. The Poodle would be my mom’s companion and very well cared for; she has a nice home and a fenced yard. A calm, lap-loving personality would be ideal.

If you might be aware of any little ladies that fit this bill, please email me privately. We would, of course, pay for all transportation.

Thanks for your time and help,

Catherine

There's a rescue in Austin (About 3 hours drive from Houstin) that usually has some poodles. They're called Lil Paws Maltese rescue [email protected]

Sometimes they have malti poos and stuff too, but if you're looking for something small and white, they're an option to call.
I would go on the poodle club of america website and find local breeders to see if any of them have a toy female poodle that they are ready to retire. There will also be a poodle rescue organization for your area.

Good luck,
Good Luck,in your search.

16yrs,I am sure your Mom took excellent care of her little one.

Lucky Dog who comes to your Mom's house.
You can go to www.petfinder.com or www.1-800-save-a-pet.com and search for Poodles in or around your area or even in other place.

Good luck!
