We're staying at a lovely little cabin this weekend and Murphy is enjoying the great outdoors. I've got a beach mat for her to lay on outside but she wants to lay on the ground instead. Unfortunately, that means laying in tree sap, which we realized too late. I managed to get the vegetable matter out of her legs but the sap is still in her hair - and my slicker brush, my greyhound comb and my fingers :mmph:

Is there anything that will safely dissolve the sap or will it have to be cut out?

Olive oil,peanut butter...anything oily.
Just work it with your fingers and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
It will work better and faster if you use a blow dryer to soften the sap a bit first.
Good luck.

I just looked on a site that several people said that Mayo works for getting it out of hair, they gave examples of a goldens hair and others as well. Worth a try and I am going to store that idea in my mind, we have 4 pine trees in our yard and we have to deal with that all the time.
