I just saw a litter of puppies that appear to be red although both parents are apricot. I'm reading online though that two apricots cannot produce a red. Is that true?

Although, I had a red poodle and although his parents were both red his grandparents were white and apricot. Does this just mean that these reds will probably lighten as they get older? Mine lightened to probably a dark apricot once he got older.

Yes, I several times I have had two apricot bred together and produced a red puppy. In theses cases both aprivot parents had a red parent or grandparent.
