Most white dogs' noses fade to a "snow nose." Even white show dogs have to have their noses colored black for the ring. This is even when they are born with a black nose, not incorrect pigment.Jumping on since I was already wondering this: which colors always have a black nose? Does poodle nose color ever fade, or is it pretty constant (self nose at birth, self nose whole life)?
MF already answered some of your question but I will expound. Blacks (and blues and silvers) will always have a black nose. Browns (and cafe au lait and silver beige) will always have a brown nose. Poodles on the white/red color spectrum (white, cream, apricot, and red) can have either black or brown noses but liver noses are undesirable (and incorrect for white/cream.) Breeders can eliminate the possibility of breeding brown nosed white dogs by ensuring that brown and white (or dogs that carry brown and white) aren’t bred together. Seeing a white dog with a liver nose is almost a sure sign of a backyard breeder to me.Jumping on since I was already wondering this: which colors always have a black nose?
