Our new-ish (got him in september) boy Mitchell has a urine leaking problem. He's had this problem from the time he was a puppy, and he's now two and a half years old.
(Background Info, skip if you want)
We're not entirely sure what the cause is, however there is something slightly wrong with his kidney function (I will clarify what that is when I get the information from his previous home).
The main problem with his leaking is that it happens when he's sleeping. He typically sleeps is his dog bed, the floor or the couch, and he has recently started sleeping on my bed at night. We could crate him, but that would be our last choice.
As far as we can tell, water intake has no affect on his leaking. We've tried limiting his water consumption a few hours before his last pee of the night, but he still leaks. He drinks COPIOUS amounts of water, and I feel bad limiting his water intake if there is no affect on his leaking. (End of Background Info)
I'm looking into temporary solutions to keep everything dry, and would like to hear opinions about the belly band or if there are other, better alternatives. His previous home believes there is no medical procedure that will permanently stop him from leaking, but we are going to double-check that with our vet.
