Anyone else have a nosey poodle??

I swear, I'm not sure about Jazz sometimes lol. She has developed an interesting habit. It started out with her being crazy about squirrles. She would sit at the back fence, which is wire, and stare out into the woods watching for squirrles. If any happened into the backyard she got all excited and chased them around even though THEY were up in the trees and she was on the ground. I should have gotten it on video. Anyway she discovered the nextdoor neighbors backyard several weeks ago. She runs a daycare for evil demon children out of her home and occasionaly they are out in the backyard for playtime during the day. Now I've seen dog's that watch the world go by through chainlink fences or windows but the fence we have is a privacy fence. Jazz sits there and peeps through the little slits and watches the kids. She will also peep in on the other neighbors yard and sometimes will sit at the front part of the fence and peep out to see if anyone is walking by. She has been outside most of the day today, it's nice and cool and she doesn't want to come in. I've looked out to make sure she is ok several times and each and every time I have she has been sitting in exactly the same spot looking through the fence at the daycare. Funny thing is though, the kids have been inside all day, it's just below 60 degrees so maybe it's to cool for three year olds?? I dunno. I took a couple of shots of my peeping poodle spying on the neighbors...

maybe she can see a squirrle??? Who knows. She's like the nosey old lady who has to be in everyone's bussiness. LoL

LMAO that is too funny wonderpup!!!!

Enzo is nosey sometimes. If we are in the bedroom or bathroom he opens the door to see what we are doing. I caught him a couple of times just staring at me through a crack in the door its creepy and funny at the same time.
Star does go sit at our large picture window to watch people and dogs go by on the sidewalk.

She just sits and watches and seems to love to be in the know.
I think all poodles are nosey. My 8 mos. old does the same thing to the neighbors. He sits on the deck and hovers, waiting for them to appear. :)
Those pictures are hilarious. Wrigley is DEFINITELY nosey. Tonight while I made supper - it was just killing him not to just pop up and lean on the counter top. He kept pacing and right when I turned - he started to stand but I caught him.
ok I want to know how you all ended up with the quiet watchers Mandy would be barking her fool head off at anyone. We don't have all but one neighbour and they see them so often they both give a few woofs to say hey you don't belong there.
Mandy is my protecter she barks at people when we are in the car BUTT will not bark if I am not in the car.
AH to have a quiet poodle.
If she see's anything through the fence she usually does bark. However, with the kids at the daycare she barks at first and then figures that aren't going away and settles her butt down to watch them. Guess she figures it's entertainment? LoL.
Wrigley lets out one or two barks at first and then once he has gotten your attention - he stops. I hope he keeps that up since his bark is really low and growly. It is funny though, since his personality couldn't be any less growly! :)
OMG...those pictures of Jazz are so funny.
Can't you just drill a little hole there to make it easier for her?
C'mon?
I agree, Jazz needs a bigger hole to watch. That would be hysterical!
Haha ....thats Funny. I Think A Better Hole Would Be Appreciated By Jazz.

The Neighbors Behind Me Have A Hole They Made So They Can Give My Dogs Treats Occasionally. However, They Found A Chihuahua A Few Months Ago And He Thinks That Hole Was Made So He Can Harrass My Dogs. They Recently Covered The Hole Now. Lol

P.s. Jazz Looks Really Cute In Those Pics.

oh those pics are soooo adorable! She is probably very social and curious! Ginger is like that - only when she sees ANYTHING she barks up a storm! I wish she would just look but she is not being social - she is guarding! :banghead:

oh can I relate to you! ginger barks so loud she could wake the dead! - scares me and makes me jump if I am doing something and all of a sudden this loud barking! drives me crazy! Especially the neighbors across the street - she just thinks that if she can see it - its our property! One time she got loose and was over there barking at the neighbor - on his land! - I had all I could do getting her out! so embarassing!
That is sooo funny! My dog is extremely nosey when it comes to packages. I receive quite a few packages a year, and once the ups guy drops it in front of the door - she goes nuts... not after the ups guy but after the box!!!
She pushes it around, pounces on it, scratches at it... until I sit down to open it... then she is litterally in my face, on my lap with her nose ready!
Once I start opening it she has her whole head in the box... and once she knows what was in it she doesn't really care anymore. It's the oddest behaviour I've ever seen in a dog. Cracks me up everytime! :pound:
Hey PonkiPoodles, the way that you describe how your dog acts with pkgs. from the UPS guy reminds me of how ours act when we come home from shopping w/ bags in our arms. Of course we must have brought them some new toys, bones, treats etc. We usually have, and when we haven't they sorta' give us that look, like "Whats up people, where is our goodies?" Yes they do have a really funny behavior don't they?

That's funny... Ponki also has a look like that, but it's usually after I put her food down... It's more of a "what the heck is this?" look.
How dull my life would be without her!
lol those are some cute pics, they cracked me up. i agree she needs a bigger hole. chester is sooo nosey. my aunt lives a house away from me, so in the summer he'll walk over there go up on the deck and sit in front of the sliding glass door. he just sits there and watches what everyones doing inside. my aunt usually invites him in, to spend time with his girlfriend, but one day she wanted to see how long he would sit there for and just watch. he sat there for over an hour and then walked home. its unbelievable what these dogs do!
Hubby was searching the internet and found a place that makes 'portholes" that you can install in your fence. It's a big plexigalss bubble that bulges out from the fence so that the dog can get a good look at whatever is on the other side. Hubby wants one, I veto'ed the idea since I'm almost certain that would lead to barking. It's funny though. We were talking about it with some friends that are down visiting for the shows this week/weekend and one of them wondered if she could put one in her fence for her dog's to look at the neighbors dogs. Then she wondered if she did that would the fact that it was a bubble shape make her dog's head look big tot he other dogs. ROFL, we were in stitches laughing about the big bad labs next door being scared off by the big headed tibbie.
