So I've been wondering... is Lincoln really a red? He's been the same color (maybe a little darker) from when I got him at 4 months. Everyone in his background are reds too.

I dont see any orangy at all if anything maybe a brown tone but overall looks red.

He always gets called an apricot, and though I always knew/thought he was red the constant apricot claims got me thinking. LOL. I think most people associate reds with the deep mahogany color when thinking of red.. or just don't normally see his color.

I'm not sure that people realize that red is even a poodle color sometimes.

Yeah he's often called brown (I can kinda see that.. he's kinda a reddish/brown/orangy color I guess) or tan.

Although he may look a brownish in different light, he has black points, so anyone that knows poodles will know he's not a brown. ^^

I guess it's just the same as my other three dogs are all grey vs. two black schnauzers and a silver poodle. LOL.

Sorry, I hadn't read the whole thread. Sometimes people who have never seen a red call Ginger brown, but fluffyspoos is right browns don't have black points and when side by side they are very different looking.

Apricot or Red is my question too

When I listed Cameron in the new members thread, I put him as dark apricot. However, after looking through the rainbow poodles threads at the reds, I'm thinking he might be red? His coat is not a consistent color--it has lighter and darker places, and his nose is brown.
