We are in the weaning process with Star. Her pups will be 6 weeks old tomorrow and Star has no tolerance for those little monsters and their sharp teeth. But she is still interested in being with them (sort of!). She has not nursed for 5 days and it is a really slow processing drying her up. Does anybody have any advice on how maybe I could wrap her so the pups do not get at her teats?

My hats off to breeders out there. OMG this is so much work! I have had nothing but compliments on the entire litter. These comments come from folks who have loved, bred, and shown Beagles for over 30 years. I am SO proud of these beauties.

Very wonderful babies indeed! My friend who breeds CKCS has just weaned a litter. She physically separates the puppies and the mom as she starts the weaning and adds duration to the separations each day as the puppies tolerate it. She still has mom with the two who are still at home for about an hour a day and they want to nurse but she (the dam) doesn't let them.
