4/21/2021 was Elroy's Gotcha day! He's 8 weeks old, plus a day! He made the 1 hour drive home, on my 85 y/o Dad's lap, without a hitch! Very cool, calm, and collected! I'm going to start this thread off with some pre-gotcha day photo's! The journey begins!

It does the heart good to watch a puppy play so hard he falls down (sec 8), then figure that while he's down he might as well get comfy (sec 9).

Oh just you wait Tom, as soon as he can climb up on to your bed, you'll find he's as big as your mattress!

Be still my heart. He snorts with his head underground the same way my Mia does. So glad to see you both having a blast.

And yes, it looks like both of you could use some training on training.

Lots of puppy visits, Tom! After the initial round of vaccinations, we titer everything we can. Now she just gets rabies vax every three years, per law.

It sounds like Roddy's not feeling well, whether it's the prednisone or the scratch on the throat I cannot say. He'll be back to his usual self when he recovers. In the future, when you get notice that a dog isn't acting normally, you may choose to spare Elroy the lessons learned by putting them together.
Thanks @Liz,
I didn't get any notice of it. His owners hadn't even noticed that he was behaving differently. They said by himself his behavior was normal. The incident was 5 days ago.
Going forward, if I do get notice, we'll keep away until they're feeling better.
What I meant by notice was that you noticed he was off right from the start.

Oh fun! Is it a smooth surface or does it have a handle for him to grasp? My ball-loving boy also enjoyed the large Chuckit Fetch/Soccer Ball, but it's not as durable as a hard plastic.
I think I'll have to add this to his collection too!
IIRC, in the first year the collection grows faster than the dog!

Mia LOVED hunt retrieval! I hope Elroy does, too!

Elroy's nap on the sofa looks a lot like Javelin's nappy pose.
I was just thinking the same thing... how many of my poodles have napped with their head angled on the arm rest like that??

Tom, is that an agility obstacle on the right or a gardening contraption?
Happy first birthday, Elroy! You have charmed all of us on PF!
