You have all been amazing in helping with Ella, (who we sadly no longer have as you know).
Our Ollie does better with a little friend. Ollie’s breeder — Martha with Custom Poodles (https://custompoodles.com/) — has been very supportive through the past few months and I’m so grateful to her.
She has a wonderful pup that she is hand raising, with excellent parentage and the pup is even a relative of Ollie’s. He was just born and won’t be ready to go home until the end of August. (By the way, if he turns out not to be the perfect pup for us, she will tell us to wait — she wants us to get only the very best dog to add to our family). And if for whatever reason we aren’t happy, she will take him back with a full refund or replacement. She stands behind her dogs, as all breeders should do!
He is a sweet little cream boy. We are starting to consider names. It will help us to move on from Ella. Will you help with name suggestions for this adorable boy? Something that goes well with our sweet Ollie?
I love Martha. We should have just gone directly to her the second time also but we weren’t even looking for a pup at the time, Ella became available as an older dog, and we just fell into it. Now we are back with Martha again because Ollie is just the most amazing dog!
she's a breeder whose website i have looked at several times with deep deep envy for anyone close enough to get one of her babies. looks like you have a good road ahead. i kind of like milo for a cream boy. don't know why. looking forward to lots of photos once he's in your home.
Well maybe Phoenix (a rebirthing sign) or I generally name my new animals in a way to remember those who are gone. Lily is connected loosely to a bird named Oliver and a cat named Olivia (Li) and Javelin remembers a cat named Jackie (J). The next poodle if there is one will be an Alexa or Allie or Alex to remember a cat named Alexandra or if Lily has passed by then Lilith if a girl. I know you have a lot of heartbreak around Ella, but perhaps remembering her somehow in naming this boy will bring her good luck in her new life.
BTW to anyone thinking about a new pup if you had a great prior experience with a breeder stick with them. I would certainly have gotten another pup from Lily's breeder if they were still working, but also will return to Javelin's breeder with no doubts or questions.

Akkk...I'm not fast enough. You already responded. Okay....hmmmm, I think there are so many good names. Do you like French names since they're really a German breed? lol. But the French standardized them apparently...hence my boys' names. I think there are lots of good French names for boys. I always liked one member who doesn't visit here anymore poodle's name and that was Chagall. Like the artist. (pronounced: Shagall sort of) Or what about Pierre? Okay...don't like those? I'll keep thinking.:alberteinstein:
I know how hard a time you've been having and this won't completely take away that trauma you've been through, but as time wears on and this new pup comes into your life, you'll be filled with good feelings again.
I had a Stan and Ollie combination. When we picked up our puppy Pointer my son said he looked like he was about to cry so he was Stanley and everybody loved his name so then 4 years later when we got our Dalmatian we played with a million names but in the end he was Ollie and we had Stan and Ollie! It was a great combination and I miss them everyday!
So I’m kind of loving the name Marlowe. It goes well with Ollie, two syllables (my favorite), is human but still fits a dog, and I love that it’s not common. Plus it sounds cute aloud!!
Marlow is apparently the more masculine version (without the E). Elias I could see being shortened to Lias.
