We had a local vet to give a talk on vaccinations and docking/cropping and dew claw removal. She says that she is positive that in the next year or two, Saskatchewan vets will pass a resolution (or whatever it is they pass) banning vets from doing cosmetic surgeries.
The president of our club breeds dogs that have a standard requiring tail docking. She has been to Europe and says that the dogs of her breed have undocked tails there and she has seen gorgeous dogs, but when the subject was discussed at her breed club meeting, all h*** broke loose. She is obviously quite prepared for the change to come to her breed, but others were up in arms about it.
It seem to me from reading on this forum and photos posted, that lots of poodle people are quite in favour of natural tails on poodles. I don't think I have seen anyone here who would get furious about the prospect.
Just thought a discussion on the subject might be interesting.
