What to do with Jazz

Sooo, I've been letting Jazz's coat grow and grow it has. It was very short, almost smooth coated when we got her and now 2 months later it's a bit over an inch in length. It might be an inch and a half. Aside from doing face, feet and tail and scissoring just at the base of the tail I haven't touched her coat, at all. Now that Jazz's hair is longer it has little frizzies and doesn't look finished. She doesn't look well groomed in spite of her coat being relatively short and the same length all over. I really want to eventually put her into that pretty puppy lion trim http://www.toypoodlesnsw.com/C apricot.htm or a nice modern or... well who knows lol. I'm a big fan of dutch clips too.
Soooooo it's driving me crazy but I can't decide what to do about it. I have a couple of options.
A) I can leave it alone and keep letting it grow- not my favorite
B) I can take a longer gaurd comb and clip her body leaving her legs to be scissored in and extra hair on the back on her neck to her shoulders for a crest to be scissored in with her topknot. Basicly putting her in a bichon type trim with a poodle flair. The result would be sort of setting the pattern for a Modern. Then we can let it grow from there.
C) I can take a gaurd comb and clip her rear, leaving her legs to be scissored in and set the base for the puppy lion.

Any thoughts? I've used up all of my desicsion making skills on client's dogs this weekend.

I like Option C - I'd love to see her in the final puppy lion trim and if her coat is just tipped a little after you set the base for the puppy lion she should still look plush as you wait for it to grow long enough for the finished look. But remember to take before and after shots so we can see how it's done

I am so bummed that I can't really do anything more with T until this cast comes off cause I can't bath him properly. It'll be face, 3 paws and tail tomorrow , and I'm going to try the spray with watered down shampoo to see if I can at least make him semi-presentable for Xmas.

Why don't you do the plastic bag idea PP suggested. I think his hurt leg is a rear leg right? Bag his leg and wash him up ...maybe put a dry hand towel or wash clothe between cast and leg then cover it with the bag. Of course try your best to keep the water off.

I suggest it but Im not in your position either. Im sure you have already thought of all that huh! lol

That is a nice scissor job up there, buuuut I dont personaly care for the cut. Although I understand that the front legs are ment to look that way, they just look out of proportion to me and too curvy. I can admire it though. I do love that tail... wish Jazz's hair would grow faster. The ears remind me of Princess Leia though, I wouldn't if it's the wind or if that really are that full?

Blue fox,
I'll take your advice. Worse case I screw it up and don't like it, I can take her down to a lamb clip and try again later. I'll be sure to photograph the process. Don't know how useful the photo's will be, legs being dyed red and all lol, but we'll give it a shot. I've never done that trim, or even seen it in person. Only pictures and non of them as good as I would like. We don't have that trim at shows here. I'm going to try and do it tomarrow if I'm feeling up to it (darn cold!!) when my big monster poodle is finished. Anywho, we'll see how it goes.
