Default Coat change

I am sure that Branna is going through a coat change. She is actually getting matts!! She has never had a matt in her life! She even got one on her leg, which is the most fine, stick straight fur on her body! I might be totally weird but I am so excited! One because I love love love brushing my poodles, and two I might actually be able to get decent pompoms on her legs! They have always been a flat simi bell shape because of the very thin leg fur and it can not hold any shape. Even with product in them they go flat once she is off the grooming table. So maybe I will actually be able to do nice round pompoms soon. and to top it all off Winter's coat is starting to change around his neck area. I am going to be doing a lot of brushing. Yay! Plus teaching Killa to tolerate brushing, wow I am going to have some busy evenings. Still exciting though .lol

I thought this picture was perfect for this thread. This is Winter passed out on my lap while I was brushing him. Lol

Milo has been going through coat change and I am over it. I am getting him shaved down in a couple weeks. I can't deal with all the matting!

Aww, your babies are growing up! Congrats on the positive attitude re: the change. Sounds like time to reward yourself with a brush or comb upgrade to celebrate. Or am I the only one who uses dog reasons as excuses to buy myself things?

Billy is now oing through coat change at a year old,and it's driving me crazy! I'm constantly brushing him and he is getting knots on his front legs and his topknot! All I seem to do is sit and pick away at them with my comb and then the next day they are back! Aarg!

No I use them as an excuse to by myself things too I think it's a natural dog lover thing to do lol. I am trying to be better about it though because I buy way to many things for "them". Plus Killa's vet bills are not making it easy to buy fun stuff. I don't know if I'm just weird but I have one comb and one brush that I just absolutely love and whenever I get new ones I never like them as much. So the new ones typically get used once or twice and then put in a drawer :( and I go back to the old ones.

Branna is 2 1/2 and she just started doing that. Not as bad as your Billy though. But she does get new matts in her neck every day.

Sometimes I think about how rich I would be if I didn't have poodles to spend all of my money on....but then I remember how unhappy I would be if I didn't have poodles to spend all of my money on, and I snap out of it!
