So I have been stalking the Shark Fin website for days now, ever since my blade guy showed me a pair that he sells. I was floored how nice they felt in my hand. I love my CC shears, so I was skeptical about the swivel. I scissored some hair and thought hmm this swivel didnt even move. But alas it did!! I thought it was going to be difficult to use and all over the place, but it felt so natural. My hands ache now every now and then and I dont enjoy scissoring like I used to. I just did a HCC on this mini that came into the salon and felt the need to upgrade.

Being the greedy B that I am I decided to get a pair for my own dogs and see how it goes. So I decided to call SF and bombard them with a ton of questions. What a great customer service to say the least and so patient. I couldnt decide between the platinum line and the double shark medalist.

After a long deliberation, in my head of course, and my hubby forking over the dough for my xmas present lol I decided on the double shark medalist. https://www.sharkfinshears.com/produ...aight-Blade-58

bwuahahaha!! I will have to let you know what I think of them when I finally try them out. I really think I will be in love.. if not I can always return them. Your probably thinking why I didnt just buy the ones from my blade guy. Well the ones he was selling was as much as my CC shears, and unless my current shears are limping along OR if I need a back up pair for when the current ones need sharpening, then I only believe in upgrading. Why spend money if you dont want better, IMO. He only had the silver line and the 8"... I wanted a bit bigger and higher caliber. So here I am. If the Shark fin is as great as I think it will be then I will upgrade my pet shears to either the dirty dawg or silver line straights then curves. Then I can lessen this blasted aches I get every now and then! Everytime I upgrade, I see a difference! Wish me luck! Did I mention I was soo happy?

Sharkfins are really nice & they also have a line with fixed thumb hole so if the swivel bothers you then you have an option. A groomer friend of mine has switched from the Geib line to Sharkfins & loving it. I have a small pair of Sharkfin thinner & LOVE them & would highly recommend them to anybody wanting a pair of aggressive thinners. My next pair of shears might have to be Sharkfin BUT only if they come in smaller than 7".

Ah but my friend they do!!! I spoke at great length about their shears. Apparently the only real difference between the beauty (people) line and the grooming line is that groomers need the longer length. If you are searching for a smaller shear look into the beauty line. They are extremely helpful about finding the right shear for you. I was told the dirty dawg line was pretty light if that is the reason for smaller.
Oh I'm also getting as part of my promotion a 15T blender for FREE.. Supposed to be the smaller version of the great white, which is another reason to purchase directly!
I think I'm going to LOVE the swivel aspect. I even bought extra shear fit rings for my current non shark fin Shears.

Ahhhh! the beauty line. I did know they had a beauty line but get this- have you seen the prices on the Beauty line vs. the Pet line? Just to show you a bit of unfairness they are having a Christmas special where if you buy in the Pet Line at least $140.00 you get a choice of XX or XY. Go to the Beauty side & the Christmas Special is still the exact same choice of XX or XY as the Pet line BUT you have to spend at least $240.00 to get the same thing. Besides that the line that I like which has the "fixed" thumbhole is $239.95 so I am off by 5 cents. What is up with that????? Beauty line of almost anything is more expensive than the Pet line. Look at Kenchii, or Kamisori both lines I like & would like to own another Beauty Kamisori but I just wish it would be the same price. Heck Beauty shears are much small 2-3" in many cases so less material. Oh, well the right line will hit me.

Yeah I did notice it was more expensive which didn't make sense to me. It was the main reason why I asked the difference in price, however she did tell me that some groomers prefer the smaller size and they do their best to match people to the right shears. If your really interested I would give them a call and see if there is a reason for the price difference. Maybe they will give you a price break? OR maybe hey will overlook the $.05 and give you the promotion anyway. Doesn't hurt to ask, I got a real good price break on my shears and I wasn't even expecting it!

Bwuahahaha!!!! I just got my new toys in the mail today!! I'm so happy I can't wait to try them out on one of the girls! I have them fitted now and ready to go but no one to try them on :(. Maybe I can hand scissor Eve, hmm.

They feel really good and balanced in my hand and are really sharp. It's cool what kind of angles I can get with the swivel! Can't wait to try it on one of the girls!
