Default UKC conformation showing coat help?????

Anyone showing in the UKC conformation ring? I will be showing a toy poodle next year. I am not a huge fan of the AKC Puppy clip for the show ring, does anyone know if I can do more of a modified Scandi for the ring? I just prefer the tighter rear end & the angles on the rear end as well. If I can avoid the AKC Puppy clip I will, just hate that straight line pretty much from hip to top of head.

Unfortunately, under a year they have to be in the puppy clip, over a year you can be in the CC, HCC, english saddle, and sporting. You can customize your puppy clip, there's so many ways to do it. Here's Cairo's when he was in the puppy clip

Here's one I really like, definitely not the straight line. I think in order to pull the straight line off your dog has to have a lot of neckhair, topknot, and a giraffe neck.

I just finished my girl's UKC CH. We went to our first show at 6 mo. in a 'sort-of' puppy clip. But eventally I took her down to more of a kennel/modern type. She was never in a full on AKC puppy clip. 1. It's not my favorite and 2. There's no way I could have the neck hair survive SAR training.
I have seen a lot of babies (4-6 mo) in tight moderns & euro type puppy clips. I have seen a 2 year old in an AKC puppy clip. Lots of longer kennel clips, contis (on dogs under and over 12 mo). A german.

UKC is pretty flexible when it come to clips. Do what you like and what compliments your dog.

Thank you so much for responding. I like the white Poodle haircut. Not that Cairo doesn't look fantastic but I really like seeing a bit more body & less hair. I am picking up my Toy tomorrow & so my breeder who also competes in grooming comps will work with me. Great to have that experience teaching me.

Here is Echo in her 2nd scissor job & more modified for both Sandi type & American. I am really liking this clip & will tweek as she grows. Echo is 3.9lbs & almost 4 months of age. She traveled so well in the car in a kennel. Just as quiet as could be. Today she is meeting all the dogs in the household & everyone has so far accepted yet another dog in the house. Echo is the black & tan phantom.

Enclosed find a picture of Echo's sister who is looking for a show home. She is slightly larger & might, just might go oversize as an adult. Tons of personality & will either mature into a blue or silver. But even if you don't want to show a great home of course is always wanted. Get's along with other dogs. I almost took 2 dogs home because she was so outgoing & happy.

For some reason Bunny's photo didn't appear. Let's try again. Nope for some reason even though in a jpg file it was sent from a phone & not sure why it won't post.

Pretty girl! Wow, she seems tiny...but then Raven was her size at only 3 mo, and he is now oversized so I guess she is normal. Congrats on your new little one!

Eta: I've shown UKC only once, and when I did I had Trev in a modern, which is technically against the rules. No one said anything about it. I've seen pictures of dogs in every kind of trim, from a 3 or 4 all over to a Scandinavian, being shown UKC. I don't think they care too terribly much.
