I got the brilliant idea that I would set her up for a modern... Well at least set her up tp grow into one.

I think we are getting close to that stage of puppyhood where long hair becomes more of a pain than it is worth and it seems I am always finding little matts. So I was prepared to put her into another 'big girl" haircut.
I was completely prepared for her to not have that puppy fluff look anymore. I was ok with it. What I was not prepared for was the color change that occured when I clipped her hair to an inch... OMG, I think I forgot she was going to be silver. Haha we got all sentamental and lamented the loss of the dark black hairs and the fluff. Oh well... she's starting to look sooo grown up! Next week it's Jazzes turn!! Mwhahaha.

oh and per usual - it isn't finished. The curse of being a groomer I suppose. I can never seem to complete a haircut on one of my own dogs in one day. Tomarrow I have my big boy standard so I'll give him a break mid groom and finish up the angles on her rear end.

The pictures really don't show the change in her color as well as I had hoped, but you probably get the general idea.

a few more

here's a couple more of her outside when we got home from work. She's so fun to photograph, you never know what color she'll turn out in the photos. She looks so different in all different lights.

Probably the best picture of her color

I threatened to kill her... LoL. Actualy the pool is why she and Jazz both needed a bath and some serious grooming yesterday. I drained it last night so they can stay clean and fresh, at least for a little while lol. Might fill it up for them again over the weekend so they can have a bit of fun in it, but I won't leave it out like we did this week. That was a real mess!

MCM, scroll down this link, all the poodles winners here are in moderns except for the very last one, the extreme maker over winner.

I personaly like the the rising star winner's version of the clip best as well as the best in show winner above her on the page. Don't care for the first poodle on that site much at all personaly.

Oh the fun of color changing lol

Dianne's silver, Grace, Isn't turning that fast at all.
On the one hand I am not good at waiting for things to happen so her clearing faster is a good thing. On the other hand I suspect from other comments on here that I've had on her that the faster clearing probably signals a lighter silver color as an adult. I think maybe what I really wanted was a blue. As in gun metal grey or slightly lighter. I didn't fully understand the differences and thought that blues stayed almost black most of their lives?? I most definitly did not black... not that there is anything wrong with black dogs.
Really though the more I look at Saleen and pictures of other lighter colored poodles the more I like the lighter silvers. I found a picture on flickr last night of a very light silver and was in LOVE with her color.
