My First Face!!

I always told myself when I got the poodles that they'd never have "that teddy bear face", and that they'd always be clean-shaved. Then fast forward to a dog that hasn't been to the groomers in almost 5 months. LOL.

He started looking really cute with a fuzzy face, up until this evening when it was just too "ughh" for me to look at (think schnauzery... and we'll leave that to the schnauzers). I watched a video on youtube and this is what came out!

BEFORE

AFTER

I was a little scared going against the grain of hair on his face, but it looks awesome! I think I may have messed up on his neck - maybe not too far down. Tomorrow I'm half-tempted to see how to do poodle-paws myself (my groomer friend does FFT for me).

And while I'm at it, is there anything that I could maybe do different next time? I think I'm growing his TK and ears out for the moment, though the rest of him needs to be shaved...

Aww! You did great! :) He looks adorable, I love the shaved face on him.
The first time I did Desmond's face I was so excited! I had spent weeks watching videos and reading instructions while waiting for my clippers to come in the mail lol, and his face was insanely fuzzy so he looked SO different. It was a fun day. :)

Thanks guys! My niece is over for the holiday (she's 3) and keeps calling him "the pointy dog". I'm waiting for sales on clippers to happen (hopefully) so I can get a decent pair other than the 10 pairs of half-dead Walmart clippers.

You did a great job on that face. I hate hate HATE doing Sterling's feet (which is why we did 2 yesterday and 2 today. Faces don't bother me - but then I've been shaving crested faces and.. for years -- but never feet (thank doG). If I can do feet YOU can do feet!
