Default Getting older!!!

Because my granddaughter's Mom was kind of a not around mother a lot of the time, I have been a sort of surrogate mother these past 17 plus years - in the past I babysat a lot of the time when my son was at work.

Once she got to high school, I still gave her a ride to school when my son worked, because he works 12 hour shifts. Of course, in the winter when it was 35 below, it wasn't much fun getting up at 6.15 to drive her to her choral rehearsals at 7.20 am!!

So, she passed her driver's test and her Mom and I went halves on a little Hyundai Accent for her. Its nice that she is independent getting places but yesterday we went shopping in my car and on the way home I said "Now I'm kind of sad!! Maybe you can leave your car at home sometimes and I will drive you to school like in the past!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess things do change!!

I was the same way....my daughters are 5 yrs apart and I drove them to school...so for 10 years it became a routine. Its sad to not be needed. Now my 7 dogs need me more

Yeah....I had six children and spent so many years caring for them that, when the last one left home, I was shell shocked. Didn't come home after work for months because I didn't want to face the empty, silent home.

Now, my dogs are my family and need almost as much time and care as my children did. LOL I'm happy.

Yes. I am really glad that she has turned out to be such a lovely friendly girl. Here are both my granddaughters - one 17 and her cousin will be 2 later this month.
