Default Yay!! Good news!!

Totally non-poodle topic~ I just got my first job offer after I graduated from grad school dec 2006!!!

So the story goes like this:

Graduated Dec 2006; husband got teaching job at a big university in a college town in IL; me moved there for/with him but jobs were super limited for my field; no job no job no job for the whole time; a fatal car accident happened in between that killed my FIL, the mother of my MIL, the identical twin sister of my MIL and her husband… i was the only one who was free to take care of MIL … flying between IL and AZ and handling the insurance claim, the legal matters and her medical/psychological needs made it impossible for me to actually look for a job …

Finally hubby got a job offer here in CA last year; moved here last Sept; more job opportunities here and i finally got this job offer!!!!!!!! My job requires up-to-date technology so for the whole time I was so worried that potential employers might see me as a rusty degree-holder. Self-esteem went really low feeling that I am a total dependent who can't make use of her 2 graduate degrees. At the same time, MIL keeps pushing me to give her grandchildren (just because she, as the sole survivor of the car accident, wants to have something to do and also she thinks that me as a DIL should be productive - if not bringing money in then producing babies it is).

Anyway, here I am, have a job offer that enables me to do what I like and what I am good at; with a loving and supportive husband plus a healthy, friendly and intelligent puppy. I am so grateful for everything and I want to share with all of you, my poodle friends!

Thanks everyone! Today is hubby's bday so we will celebrate my job-hunting success along with his big day. Too bad I can't sneak Nickel in the restaurant.

Congrats to you! What great news after such an intensely challenging last four years. Be sure to bring Nickel a bite or two of your leftovers. ;-)
