I've never dieted, and don't play too, but I think the most important thing to "gain" (no pub intended) from a diet is not lost pounds, but healthy e ating habits. I find that diets that come with food do not really teach you anything. Once your membership or whatever runs out, what are you to do? Look for more cardboard tasting "chicken" breasts?

If you really want to lose weight, eat smaller portion sizes, cut back a lot on carbs, eat lean protein, lots of veggies, and cut out as much junk as necessary. The weight loss might be slow, but your entire way of eating will change for the better, and the weight loss will be long lasting.

I just watched my mom transform from being quite overweight to being a very healthy weight in a years time. She followed the Hershberg diet, visited her clinic once a week for a weigh in and diet counselling, and it's been incredible. No TEENY meals, no skipping meals, its healthy lasting weight loss. My mom used to have a problem of not being able to stop eating when something was really good, even if she was full. Not anymore. Her eating habits are totally changed. We always ate very healthily in my family, so that wasn't her main problem, but now she stops when shes full, and doesn't have a problem passing on the cake or ice cream.

I pretty much agree here. I chose this plan because it wasn't a typical fad diet BUT a way to help me with cravings and also get back to doing portion control, I admit the meds had much to do with my weight gain BUT I didn't ALWAYS help out by eating a 6 pack of donuts or a whole 12 inch sub versus 6 LOL. So I am hoping to only do this 1 or 2 months and by then get back into healthy eating and living.

Update -

I did end up ordering month 3 of NS. I have in total lost 25 lbs so far and still have 20 to go goal weight.

It has not been as bad as I thought, and it has tought me how to eat better! I honestly didn't realize some of the yummy things I was eating were so dreadfully fattening!! I thought I was eating good veggies, now I am incorporating all kinds of veggies into my meals. I have not had red meat or pork in 3 months, I do miss it a little.

I still have my moments though. And I am also flexing meals that are in NS nutrition guidelines and hoping to make this a lifestyle change.

Was curious how others are making out.

thats fantastic Olie!!

I've lost about an Elphie since I started my venture into healthy awareness and I'm shedding weight like crazy
my doctor has told me that she expects me to plateau at some point and start loosing just a bit of weight here or there, but I haven't seen any evening out on my charts XD

((it helps that I got a complimentary gym membership from the place I work!! XD ))
