Default Lion Trim for a Pom

I realy love my poms hair. They are relatively lower maintenance poms when it comes to grooming. They are so sweet looking.

I am considering a couple things here because of the shedding. Either a lion trim or even a shorter trim. I am sure some of you groomers do pomeranians as well and was wondering if you could give me some ideas or pictures?

I'm pretty sure that I wll not be able to acheive this cut myself as I am nervous enough just talking about it lol. But if and when I do this I want to be sure I give very specific details of what I want.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Oh let me see a lion trim when you are done. I love that trim on poms.

Do it!

My friend growing up had a GIANT pom and during the summer they would take him in and get him in a lion trim/papillion looking trim with even less hair (keep a butterfly look on his head, but pretty much cut everything else away and only leaving a few wispies on his tail). He always seemed so much happier without all that extra hair...

one time when we were about 8 though... we decided his tail hair was too long and cut it... it ended up looking like a heart. It was odd to watch this male pom walk around with a heart shaped tail bouncing after him, lol.

Default I did it

Here are a couple pics and quick videos. It was much easier then I thought. We did the Lion on Coco and then Aoki we did a short cut & shaved her up to her neck and left the front long the rest was shaved. I was prepared to CRY afterwards but I admit I really like them both. Suri scared the sh*t out of us though because we placed her and Olie in crates while we did the poms and Suri was freaking out growling, showing teeth........so we had to move real slow once we left her out of the crate. She is fine now, but it was a bit scary for a minute.

Cute little naked puppies! Bailey's lion trim looks similar (not the head or color of course) but I still haven't gotten a good pic, he keeps sitting down.

I know I feel like I should go buy Aoki some shirts! When all that hair is gone it seems they move differently.
