Default Mammograms

They are insanely painful. It's ridiculous.

My thought is always why isn't there something for MEN!? Why is it us women who have to suffer most?

I've been putting it off. Given my, um, endowment, I don't know why a plain x-ray wouldn't suffice! There's really nothing to squish.

I don"t find them particularly painful. I guess it depends on how dense your breast tissue is. Colposcopies are a killer, compared to that...

@Verve, don't delay, breast cancer is curable, don't take this chance.

This is the year I get to start doing them. I've heard it can be very uncomfortable/painful, but still, it's much better than cancer treatment!

I think the difference between discomfort/pain is largely down to the skill of the radiographer. If you get one who warms the plates you have probably found a good one!

Okay this is the truth guys, my mammogram appointment is 2 and 1/2 hours from now! How ironic is that, lol?!!

For those who are putting it off, it really isn't that bad. Yes, they're uncomfortable, and yes, it can be a little painful, but it's just in the moment. It's not for very long. It's more important to get it done, than to take chances.

Verve, please think about your health, and just do it. I'm also well endowed, and believe me, it's never been bad for me. I guess some people are more prone to pain and discomfort. But it definitely out weighs the chances of possibly getting breast cancer. Please seriously consider it. ❤️

You know, I think age has a lot to do with it, and also whether or not the person has dealt with very much physical pain in their life. With me, I'm 63 and have gone through procedures, a surgery ( plus an outpatient surgery), needles stuck in me more times than I want to count, and just dealing with overall pain in my daily life. For me, it's no biggie. But I can understand why it would be for some.
