Default All dog owners can sympathise ...

There is a Youtube video that's gone viral, taken in Richmond Park (near London). It's hysterical and cringe-worthy at the same time ... don't know about you, but my personal nightmare would be an example of loss of control of my dog (and it happens at some point to ALL of us!) becoming an Internet sensation .

BBC News - Fenton! Internet hit raises dog chasing deer problem

WoW! A herd of deer that size would certainly be be irresistible to almost ANY off-leash dog, especially once they started moving! A great opportunity to train a good solid recall though, if the deer are always there as props. I"ve always maintained that "come" is the most important command to teach a pup, as it could save his life. This looks like the deer ran into traffic? which even makes it more dangerous for the dog (and the folks driving down the road!) I'm sure Fenton's master was just frightened for his dog, as the deer won't stop running away, so when will Fenton give up and come back?

FENTON!!!!

Oh I got a chuckle out of this. And yes, I can sympathize!

When I was about 7 months pregnant with our first child we had a boxer, Hobbes. One day I took the trash out through our garage. I blame it on the baby brain, but I left the door leading from the house to garage open as I carried the trash to the curb. Hobbes stood in the doorway until I arrived back in the garage, then he made a wild dash around me. straight for the highway up the street from us.

I'm sure I would have made quite the internet splash as a giant pregnant lady chasing him about a mile up the road(terrified he would be hit, thankfully it wasn't a busy time of day).

I too probably screamed HOOOBBBES! a few times

Certainly I have been there along with FENTON!!!'s owner.

.... I'd probably let Vegas do it..

It would be *hilarious.* I encourage him to chase birds (prey drive is good for a hunting dog, though his recall on these has also been practiced a lot)

There are some wonderful spin offs, involving Bambi, an Americam Werewolf, etc, etc!
