Best Shampoo - For PEOPLE!
We always talk about the best shampoos/conditioners for our dogs - but what's the best shampoo for people? I am looking for a new brand to try. I am currently using Nioxin (#1). Wondering what you all use and why you like the shampoo you are using? I'm looking for something that will make my hair soft.

I use Biolage Matrix Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner and it is fabulous! It smells heavenly and leaves your hair smooth and not dry, which is pretty important since I do straighten my hair a fair bit.
I have heard good things about Nioxin.

I struggle with frizz, greasy roots, and dry ends so I have a kind of odd shampoo/conditioner combo. I do half and half Garnier Fruitis Sleek and Shine (pardon my horrible spelling) and Redken Body Full shampoo, and Redken All Soft conditioner.
I love everything Redken, but I swear the Garnier is the only thing that works for my frizz without making my hair an oily mess!

Try L'Anza
My son is a hairdresser; he recommended a shampoo and conditioner called L'Anza. I have curly frizzy (think Brillo) hair that just felt terrible to touch. It is now healthy, soft and more manageable.
I buy it at the beauty supply house but know you can get it at Drugstore.com or Folica.

I was reading the reviews on this brand and it sounds pretty good! I think I will try the Healing Strength White Tea Shampoo. It is SLS-free but the reviews say it lathers really well. I am trying to grow out my hair so anything that can prevent breakage and split ends will be great!
I read that it's not good to wash your hair everyday. Do you guys wash it everyday? what's your hair washing schedule? I wash mine everyday because it will feel greasy otherwise. Some people suggest washing every other day, or you can use conditioner only every other day. It's also been suggested that conditioner should ONLY be used on the ends of the hair and never the roots - as this will make the hair more greasy and less voluminous, since it will weight down the hair.
I've been so desperate for a new shampoo that I've been trying out my dog's shampoos lol.

You sound just like me! My hair especially mats when I wear a hoodie or jacket.
My hair is wonderfully soft right after I dye it...but soon returns to its dry old self. Plus the colour always fades right away. I just dyed it light brown and already it is this icky goldy blonde shade.
My son has a slight wave to his hair and he uses Pantene curls to straight and it does a good job.

I know I used to wash my hair everyday before I began using the Biolage Shampoo/Conditioner because I felt it got far too oily. I only wash it every other day now, and it is fine. But I do wash it twice, so two applications of shampoo, one of conditioner.
With the conditioner it's always been recommended to me to only do the ends. I've had this discussion with friends and we all agree that it does make a difference just conditioning the ends.

The other shampoo I use is DevaCurl no poo conditioning cleanser. It is gentle enough to use every day but does not lather, you work it through your head. I LOVE it! When I have used product in my hair I use the L'Anza, if not I use the DevaCurl.

I love Moroccan Oil products.
MOROCCANOIL - Salon Products - Hair Conditioning Products
I have a lot of hair, it's long, and I color it (blonde highlights and darker low lights) and get that Brazilian keratin treatment once a year. The Moroccan Oil products keep my hair healthy and smell great, and don't strip the color or keratin. (I sound like a flippin' commercial!)
ETA: I don't wash mine every day except in the summer because it gets nasty when I run outside. The Moroccan Oil treatment is the BEST for keeping hair soft/healthy. You can put it in wet or dry hair. I use the shampoo/conditioner, oil, hairspray and shine spray.
