it has a terrible app market, which was one of my biggest beefs I couldn't even get Pandora radio on it because it came preloaded with Shazam -gags-

And I agree 2 years is forever...but I'm a cheapo and don't want to pay full retail for a phone!!! XD

I could just about manage being locked into a phone contract for a year, but when all the phone companies went to two years, I bailed and bought an unlocked phone. When I ran the numbers through a spreadsheet, it was actually more cost-effective that way. And it means I am not stuck with all the phone company branded apps and lock-outs. Example ... unlocked Android phones mostly support Skype or tethering or hotspot use. I like using the phone's 3G connection for a laptop or sharing the connection with my partner's iPhone . Most phone companies disable this functionality.

I can still tether and stuff, I haven't found my contract to be anything but just plain long! I like Orange Wednesdays and I could only get my phone in white this way... Sooo shallow =P

Keithsomething:

I use the camera connection kit to upload pictures taken with my Nikon to my iPad for editing. As for files, Dropbox is awesome. I just deployed 19 iPads in my department at work. I use a single Dropbox account to upload files, nearly 2 GB of technical manuals that are updated frequently.

As for the limitations with IOS, the things that are so infuriating are exactly the things that make it work so well. To me, it's worth it.
