My darling A... what can I say? Evidently my darling dearest has secretly been hiding money for months now and surprised me with an iphone 4 for my birthday (my bday is Tuesday, but I had a surprise party tonight!).

I guess everyone was in on it, A's parents included, and it was a great party and what can I say? I got a GREAT gift. I joined the cult!

That being said:
What are your favorite iphone apps? - I have to wait until tomorrow to activate this puppy, but I figure I would already be a creep and decide what apps I want! Our friend Mindy was already telling me I have to get photoshop for iphone and she really wants me to get this walkie talkie app so we can do that, lol. Oh, and we have a face time date tomorrow. (Ah, my friends, I love em)

I like Shazam can find any song by listening. Angry Birds is my fav game at the moment. I use the ebay and Kijiji apps alot too. urban spoon is good to find restaurants etc. Netflicks is great on the iphone. I mostly stick with the free apps because I get bored and erase them and get new ones. Not wasting money that way. Aaand there are tons of great free apps! Have fun and welcome to the cult. You will be very happy with it I'm sure!

I was already addicted to Angry Birds before I even had an iphone, haha. A and I play it on A's boss' ipod touch all the time. I've downloaded the emergency pet app (I think it is the same one) that someone linked here a few weeks ago... and just some other nonsense stuff for fun/because I can. We'll see how long the xylophone stays on my phone, haha.

My phone is an android but I'm sure a lot of the apps are the same..I also like Angry birds, Pandora for free music, facebook, our state department of transportation has an app I can look at the mountain passes and other road reports, kindle app are some of my favorites.

I downloaded the kindle app and got several free books. Exciting! Blackberry App World has nothing on all the things available to iphone users, and even droid users!

Also... I might already be in over my head with Words With Friends... I'm playing my friend that just had a baby, her mom, and my brothers' fiance! And I was never any good at scrabble to begin with!

My friend said I should get some app named... shazam? It listens to music and tells you exactly what it is. We'll see!

Ooh nice present! Outside of Facebook and email my most often used apps are:

Google
Yelp - for reviews of shopping, restaurants etc (this came in really handy in Glasgow when I needed to find a decent nearby restaurant and it pulled up restaurants local to where I was)
Bejeweled - I play Blitz on FB and really, really want to beat everyone else, even though I suck at it
Craigsphone - Craigslist for iPhone
Groupon - if you ever buy Groupons, you don't have to print them off because you can access them via your phone
ShakeItPhoto - this one you have to pay for, but it basically turns your photos into a polaroid
xe Currency - this shows you current exchange rates, very convenient if you're ever travelling

I love bejeweled (always trying to beat my mom), yelp, AAA (very handy esp when traveling-shows places nearby that have AAA discounts), weather channel ( I'm obsessed with weather it seems. Must know what the weather is like here as well as back home in Texas and anyplace I want to travel), for fido (nearby places for Penny to have fun!).

I think A is loving this gift as much as I am... we went to see A's parents yesterday for my birthday and had quite a bit of down time between waiting on everyone to show up and dinner so we played connect 4 for like an hour!

Now A wants one... we'll see if A can wait until February for a birthday present!

Keep the suggestions coming. I'm loving them. There is just SO much stuff you can get for the iphone that I had no idea! So far, I'm loving playing Words With Friends against other people and playing little games like Mancala with friends and random people across the iphone-o-shpere!
