As far as potty training goes-I got Gucci first and he was potty trained in 1 week. Then I got Miu Miu 3 months later. So no issues with potty training. They both use their wee wee pad and they both have the run of my 6500 sq ft house all the time even when I'm not home and that was how they were potty trained too. I didn't use crates/playpens. Well actually I used a playpen with Gucci, but he learned to escape after 1 month. Miu Miu took about 2 months to get fully potty trained. I think because they play fight and then she has to go and forgets where the wee wee pad was. But no problems after 2 months. They both go potty on command. Miu Miu has no problems going outside to do her business too, but Gucci refuses to use the grass outside. He would only use his indoor wee wee pad.
2 is so much fun. I wish I could get a 3rd, but I don't think hubby would go for that. lol
So sorry, just saw your message today. 2 poodles are so much fun. They entertain each other and keep each other company when I'm at work. If you decide on getting another one you will not be disappointed. It is a bit harder to train 2 dogs because they both want your attention and they both want to learn. I can't separate mine because the other would think that they were in trouble and getting punished. So training for commands/tricks is a little harder. The one that gets the trick first will always try to get in front of the other one who I'm trying to work with and show you that they know how to do the trick. lol.
