paisley pup - Jet is a service dog for me. I have trained therapy dogs in the past. You can find out requirements at Therapy Dogs International. But keep in mind that you only need to have a dog tested if the facility you visit requires it. In my area there are no TDI tests and I have not found a facility yet that requires any type of test or evidence of training. If you want to see how your dog reacts, call a nursing home and walk through the halls for exposure to smells and sounds of a medical facility. If your dog is confident and self-controlled you might have a great therapy dog candidate!
